Aboriginal Art in America, Again

The Hood Museum at Dartmouth College, where Brian Kennedy, formerly of the National Gallery of Australia, is now Director, has announced the acquisition of “an important private gift of contemporary Aboriginal art … over three hundred works … representing the many exciting contemporary art-making practices of Aboriginal peoples across the Australian continent.” The gift follows up the well-received exhibition Dreaming Their Way: Contemporary Aboriginal Women Painters that traveled to the Hood in 2006. The full press release is available at the Hood Museum website.
